Embassy Vacation Resorts & Highway 50/Ski Run Blvd. Intersection Improvement Design

    Embassy Vacation Resorts Project Area

    Client: Argosy/KOAR Group

Project Manager: James Rienstra, P.E. Vice President

    Date: Ongoing

Project Description: Foster Engineering prepared the grading, drainage, Best Management Practices (BMP), utility and site plan for a new hotel site in South Lake Tahoe. Our firm also designed the adjacent Ski Run Water Quality Improvement Project. Embassy Vacation Resorts is part of a large scale redevelopment project proposed for the area by the South Lake Tahoe Redevelopment Agency. Redesign of the Intersection and Traffic Signal at Ski Run Blvd. and Highway 50 was also part of our work. Intersection improvements included the addition of turning lanes and compliance with Caltrans Design Standards. The project includes extensive coordination with the project architect, landscape architect, the City of South Lake Tahoe Redevelopment Agency, and utility companies for planning purposes. We also prepared the topographic and boundary survey and construction staking, provided the specifications for civil site work, coverage calculations, and engineers construction cost estimate. Agency processing included a waiver of waste discharge requirements from the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) - Lahontan Region, Caltrans Encroachment Permit and Caltrans plan approvals. Phases 1 and 2 are completed, Phase 3 is close to completion, Phase 4 is beginning construction and Phase 5 is in final design.
