Technical
Experience
Mr.
Taylor possesses over 38 years of experience as an Architect and Structural
Designer. His project experience includes: historical restorations, residential,
commercial, institutional and industrial buildings - types I through V.
As the senior architect on several projects he has been key to management
of the construction of hotels, shopping centers, multiple residential
developments and churches. He has provided project management, construction
team supervision, conceptual and detailed estimating, contract negotiation
as well as coordination of contractors, engineers, public agencies, owners,
etc. Prior to joining Foster Engineering, Mr. Taylor supervised architectural
departments in multi-disciplinary firms and also provided consultation
to large, private firms in Nevada and California.
Prior
to joining Foster Engineering, Mr. Taylor worked for several private developers
throughout California, Oregon and Nevada as an architect. He also ran
his own architectural design business at various times for a total of
15 years. Additional experience includes a two-year assignment in Saudi
Arabia for a large U.S. architectural and engineering firm.
Project
Experience
Carnelian Bay Lake Access and Resource Enhancement Project
Architect
and structural designer for the design and construction document preparation
of public restroom facilities and commercial building. This project was
for a public lakefront park facility along the scenic corridor of Highway
28 on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. The California Tahoe Conservancy
is considering utilizing the public restroom design as the standard for
the area.
Martis Village Shopping Center
Architect
and structural designer for a shopping center encompassing a movie theater,
ground level rental spaces and a second story mall space. This project
was designed for a heavy snow area and utilized open bay systems with
heavy timber post and beam construction.
Agate Bay Lakefront Residence
Development
of plans for a 6,800 square foot , Agate Bay, lakefront residence designed
to accommodate the specific needs of the residents. The visual and aesthetics
of the project were of particular interest to the local regulating agencies.
Griffith Lakefront Residence
Developed
plans for a 4,600 square foot, lakefront home on Lake Tahoe. This structure
is particularly complex and required that Mr. Taylor also prepare the
structural calculations and structural drawings.
Goldfield Hotel Historic Renovation
Architect,
structural designer and construction manager of this project which was
considered the largest historic restoration project in Nevada. The project's
special challenge was to achieve modern, functional systems, while maintaining
a 1907 atmosphere. The building structural system was brought up to 1985
UBC Zone 3 seismic standards.
Ski Run Water Quality Improvement Project/Tahoe Meadows
Linear Park
Project
Architect for a firm providing architectural services for the design aesthetically
pleasing rock facing for Wildwood Arch Crossing. Assisted with design
of free span bridges for the Bike trail component of the Linear Park along
Highway 50 on the south shore of Lake Tahoe.
